Free hands-only CPR training event on February 25
Please find a message from Jamie Inglis (Community Events & Luscher Programming Supervisor | Parks & Recreation) below:
Hello All,
My name is Jamie and I oversee community events for the City’s Parks & Recreation Department. Each February, I get the opportunity to partner with our Fire team to host an event commemorating American Heart Month and encouraging others to learn the life-saving skill of CPR. This year, our team was inspired by Buffalo Bills player, Damar Hamlin, who experienced sudden cardiac arrest during an NFL game and was saved by CPR. Damar partnered with the American Heart Association for American Heart Month and is challenging other celebrities to learn hands-only—and Fire is joining the cause!
Throughout the month, we’ve been challenging community members to learn the life-saving skill and sharing videos of their skills on the City’s social media. The series culminates in a free hands-only CPR training on February 25 at 10am at the Main Station on B Avenue with our Fire team! Participants will learn to recognize the signs of cardiac arrest, get the opportunity to train with mannequin Mini Anne, and learn the steps necessary to save a life using the compression-only technique.
Please feel free to pass along the event information to your community members. Additional information is available on the website: Leave a Legacy of Survival by Learning Hands-only CPR | City of Lake Oswego
Feel free to contact me with any questions! Thanks so much-
