Come whenever you can, if you can’t help for the entire time

Where:  Meet at East Waluga Park covered picnic shelter off Quarry Road Then we’ll move to Larry’s yard across the street.

First Work Party a Huge Success!

[slideshow_deploy id=’492′]

Friends of Waluga Park’s first work party was a great success! Thanks to a dozen volunteers, about 35 trees were spared from an early death from English Ivy.

With Poison Oak now sprouting, we will wait until fall to have our next work party. Check out these photos of the volunteers in action!

Waluga Park Work Party – Sat. April 13 – 9:30am

Waluga Park is under attack and needs your help! English Ivy is creeping up most of the park’s majestic trees and without help, many of them will die.

The Waluga Neighborhood Association is sponsoring regular work parties to save the trees. We plan to cut the ivy growing up the trees, which will give the trees a chance to live until the City of Lake Oswego can properly treat the park.

Please come to the work party on Saturday, April 13th from 9:30am to noon. You will need to wear sturdy shoes, long pants and long sleeves. Rubberized garden gloves are recommended.

Please bring the following tools if you have them:

  • Loppers
  • Clippers
  • Hand Saw (no power tools)

We will meet in the East Waluga Park parking lot near the covered picnic shelter, rain or shine!
