First Ice Cream Sundae Social a Big Success!

The Waluga Neighborhood Association’s First Ice Cream Sundae Social was a big success. Dozens of neighbors were served ice cream by some of Lake Oswego City Hall’s finest, including Mayor Kent Studebaker, Fire Chief Larry Goff, Police Chief Don Johnson, Planning Commisioner Bill Ward, and City Council Member, Skip O’Neill. Even Chase the K9 stopped by for a lick!

Most of the neighbors won great raffle prizes donated by area businesses. The weather even cooperated, as it wasn’t too hot to enjoy an ice cream sundae.

The Waluga Neighborhood Association’s fifth annual neighborhood picnic was a lot of fun. Many volunteers came together to provide food and an opportunity to learn CPR anytime and get up-close with the Lake Oswego Fire Department. Many thanks to our sponsors and guests!

Neighborhood Picnic – August 5, 2012

We held our third annual picnic in the shelter in East Waluga Park on Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2012. About 80 people showed up with a dessert or a salad, and we provided the hamburgers and veggieburgers, courtesy of our local Albertson’s Supermarket. Our purpose in these celebrations is to begin building relationships, conversation by conversation, knitting together the fibers of a community. And we think we’ve gotten a good start.
